According to the Cary Police Department, officers responded to calls about a shooting at about 8:45 p.m. in the Green Parking Deck at Fenton. When officers arrived they found Cory Edward McNeill, 23, dead inside a vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound.
Police said that shortly after officers arrived, 24-year-old Malik Emaje Scott-McClarin called Cary Police Department and turned himself in in connection to the shooting. Scott-McClarin was taken into custody and interviewed by investigators.
Authorities said the victim and suspect knew each other and there's no lingering threat to the community.
Police also told ABC11 that Scott-McClarin worked for the security company that covers Fenton. However, authorities said the shooting was not work-related, and the security company is unarmed.
